Supporting the BSO through planned giving.
Leave a legacy. Remember the BSO in your will.
Tickets sales cover less than one-third of our costs. By supporting us and the outreach work that we do, you are ensuring the future of the BSO.
How you choose to make a gift is a matter of personal preference and situation. The BSO is recognized by the IRS as a charitable organization. Cash contributions are deductible and result in federal and state tax savings, while charitable gifts made through a will are 100 percent deductible; no federal estate tax or state inheritance tax applies to such gifts.
To leave a gift in your will, simply share this sentence with your attorney or financial planner:
“I bequeath $____ or ____% of my estate to the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra (BSO), a not-for-profit corporation with principal offices located in Bloomington, Indiana (Tax ID# 23-7076183) for the benefit of and unrestricted support of the BSO.”
For more information on planned giving, including leaving the BSO a bequest, please contact the BSO at 812-369-4212 or via email at bso@bloomingtonsymphony.com.
