From Maestro Terceros himself when first speaking to the orchestra musicians:
I feel especially honored for the opportunity to join Bloomington Symphony as the Artistic Director for the 2023-24 season. I also understand the big responsibility that the position represents, however I am committed to carry, protect, and project to the future the legacy from Maestro Alejandro and all past music directors of BSO starting with Maestro Geoffrey Simon, from whom I hope to learn as much as possible, especially regarding his vision when he created the orchestra.
I am here to support the mission of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, but above all, to support you in all your musical dreams and projects. In the process, I am open to receive all your feedback and advise, because I know I will be working and learning from musicians that have a lot more experience and talent than me.
More than anything, I would like to offer you and all our audience moments of joy, delight and inspiration through the music we create together. I am also excited for the opportunity to make new friends and I promise to do my best to learn all of your names and connect with you all in a meaningful way. Above all, my biggest accomplishment will be to make BSO, the city of Bloomington and the state of Indiana even greater through the art of music.
Thank you very much!
