WFIU Radio Interview- Celebrating the Legacy of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra

The Bloomington Symphony Orchestra presents the finale of its 53rd season on Sunday, March 5, 2023. The concert honors the legacy of the orchestra’s founder, Geoffrey Simon, as he returns to guest conduct. The performance will also feature virtuoso pianist Ignas Maknickas, whose musical legacy is just beginning, as he takes on the monumental Second Piano Concerto by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The program also features the Allegro molto from the Serenade No. 1 by Johannes Brahms, Hümn by Ukrainian composer Hanna Havrylets (conducted by Isaac Terceros) and the Dances of Galanta by Zoltán Kodály.

The concert takes place at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater and begins at 5 pm. More information at bloomingtonsymphony.com.
